Here are five things you may not have known about my art:
1. I don't paint from photographs or use a sketchbook. Everything happens spontaneously on the surface I am working on - colour mixing, fingerpainting, ink splashing, texture creation, and random paint drips.
2. Each painting I create typically has about 10-15 layers. An archaeologist would have a great time digging down into all the layers to find all the hidden treasure.
3. I love to reuse and recycle the collage elements in my paintings. So, if you look closely, you'll find paper packaging material, cardboard, fruit packaging netting, first-aid gauze, old skeleton keys, sandpaper, old books and magazines, and even computer circuit boards.
4. I always try to include metallic foils or paints in every artwork, as I want my artwork to sparkle! :)
5. I don't use an easel or an artist palette. I stand up at a table and lay my surfaces flat. This is so I can build up my textured layers and also (see #1) I love to mix and experiment with colours directly on the surface. If the colours don't mix, I just cover them up and try something new.
