Behind the Scenes : Painting a Collection

Behind the Scenes : Painting a Collection

I'm trying to work in a collection right now, as this way of working never appealed to me before. But, I wanted to find out what it was like.

Does it take a lot of discipline? It depends... keeping to one palette is sometimes a challenge, but sometimes a relief. On days when I am distracted by shiny object syndrome, it can be frustrating to "have" to work within boundaries (even when I am the one setting them!) On other days, when I am not feeling particularly inspired, it can be a relief knowing there are certain colours waiting for me and I can just start playing with one colour. These work-in-progress paintings are coming along nicely.
