I'm a collector by nature. When I was little, I collected stamps - it didn't hurt that my grandmother was a postmaster and would always pick up the annual collector's album for me each year.

As I've grown older, I am drawn to collecting pieces of nature - rocks, sea glass, shells, leaves, twigs with lichen on them, coins from countries I visit, and even feathers.

Having these little collections around me reminds me of all the textures, shapes, and colours in nature and reminds me that anything I create or paint has already been created by Mother Nature.
No pressure.

What have you created lately that you can directly see the inspiration in nature?
Come on over to my art page to see all the textures, shapes, and colours in each piece of original art. Or, visit me at my next exhibition to see them in person!
