What if no one chooses the painting you love?

What if no one chooses the painting you love?

Looking back at my progress, I’ve painted over 200 paintings (so far). Some of those sold, some didn’t, some got cut up and recycled into other paintings, some got painted over to start again, some have been put aside to rest for a while until I figure out what to do next with them, and some are stored in my studio waiting for the perfect exhibition to make their debut.

I will always have favourites (don’t tell the others!), and often times my favourites aren’t the ones others fall in love with. I’m mostly ok with that, as I know that loving a painting is a pure emotional response. Everyone has their own opinions based on their background, upbringing, current circumstances, colour preferences, wall space, and more.

On the rare occasion, I do wonder what it is about the paintings that I love that don’t get chosen by others. Are they the “wrong” colours? Too big? Too small? Your 5 year-old could “do that”? (could they though?) Or, just not the right timing? In the end, it just means I get to enjoy them on my wall for longer, until they find the right home.

Take a look at my original art to see all the textures, shapes, and colours in each piece. Or, visit me at my next exhibition to see them in person! Find out if any of them speak to you.
